Seneca mattress not suitable for extended use

During a recent 4 week trip we found that after about 2 weeks the mattress developed pockets so deep that you could not roll over and my wife's back started bothering her. FYI, I'm 210 lbs and DW is 130 lbs, so don't assume user weight is the issue. I searched the forum but did not see a good solution for the Seneca. Because of the design the mattress height has to be 8" or less so 5W and other solutions where height is not an issue does not help (Seneca HJ may be different but I don't have one available to check).

The mattress Jayco provided is the Denver Mattress "Weekender" which is 6" high. It looks like the name is an indicator of the expected usage for the Seneca. Denver Mattress has a "RV Deluxe Plush" which is 7" and has coils. Anyone familiar with this product? How about the Denver Mattress "Ever Pedic" also 7" but all foam like the "Weekender"?

CW sells an "InnerSpace 8-inch RV Luxury Deluxe…" that is 8" high. Anyone familiar with this one?

I told Jayco that they needed to consider putting a queen bed in some Seneca models so a better mattress could be used.

Thanks for any help. HELP!!!

Not sure which Denver mattress came with our Jay Flight but I wouldn't buy another one with that brand on it. JMO and probably many others! I'm sure you'll get many responses for good replacements for it and I doubt any will be by Denver!

Ours did the same thing. Just commented to my wife it feels like a hammock. Gonna flip it today to see if it feels better.

Here's another option; this one's on my list for when the memory foam topper over Denver Mattress goes out the window:

Can you go to 9", or is 8" a hard limit?

Either way, there are many options out there from Amazon, Overstock, Sam's, Costco... And IMO, foam's the way to go. We LOVE our foam mattress at home.

Camper_Bob, 8 inches (for the mattress) is stretching it already. The "Weekender" is 6". Thought I would head off the smart remarks:>)

Ours did the same thing....I've read of others too.

I put a foam topper under ours and it helped a bunch...but I'll probably still change it out soon.

WaltW, is your unit still under warranty? The 2016 Redhawk that we put an offer on has a different brand of mattress. The dealer said that Jayco listened, and got rid of the Denver.

If you are under warranty, you may be able to get Jayco to switch the mattress to the new type that they're using now. Even if you are out of warranty, Jayco often will make it right anyway. Just good customer service... but, don't go through the dealer, contact Jayco directly.

The_Logans, what brand mattress is Jayco putting in the 2016's? And yes, I did send Jayco an email but have not heard anything back from them. I did hear from Lippert who distributes the Denver RV mattresses and they said contact Jayco.
