Seneca mysteries

We have a 2018.5 Seneca FS. In the cab area, driver's side, it has a black plastic coated wire that is connected to a screw and then goes up through a hole in the headliner. I have attempted to attach a picture to this post.

Any clue what this is or what it is designed to do?

Thanks!

Have you tried pulling on it? If it does nothing, start the motor and wait 5 minutes and try again.

Have you ever played that game as a kid to get the semis to honk their horn while you pass them? What is the gesture you make? Hint...its the same gesture you make when you pull that cable. Connecting the dots?

I like this one better....

It’s the pneumatic noise converter trigger.

Just give that wire a little pull and you’ll find out real fast.....if your air pressure is up. Yours is different than mine is, yours is attached to the visor mount it looks like. Mine was attached to a plastic button pushed into the headliner. First pull and the button popped out, bounced off my arm and out the open window.

On our older fire trucks the lanyard operated a manual air valve. On newer trucks they changed it to an electric switch operated by the lanyard. Too many opportunities for an air leak to develop over time running air tubing up and back down in the cab.

Has any new owner verified whether it is an actual mechanical valve or an electrical switch? Knowing which type will help owners troubleshoot any issues down the road, certainly now it should be a warranty issue!
