Seneca - radio or cb antenna

Is the antenna on the driver's mirror a cb antenna or a radio antenna ?
I was told it was a cb antenna and was premiered for a cb by the dealer but the only antenna wire I'm finding in the dash goes to the radio.

Hopefully a newer Seneca owner can help. My 2014 antenna is dual-purpose, I have a multiplexer box behind my dash with a CB antenna output connection. But I think it is different for the newer units.

Received an email from Jayco.
NO cb wiring in my Seneca. Have to install everything.
Now to figure out how hard it would be to duplicate the driver's side radio antenna with a cb antenna.....

Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/AM-FM-CB-Ante.../dp/B0045J9Z3K

This is basically what they've done in our 2014 Jayco Seneca. Looks for my posts, pictures, etc. It is a compromise at best.

Welcome aboard!

Does this compromise work very well ?
What is the limiting factor on a setup like that ?
I haven't had good luck with CB range in the past in other vehicles, even after taking it in to a professional cb shop.

Ive never been pleased with mine and no longer use the CB I bought for the RV. I think it would be best to try an entirely separate antenna. I did that to the passenger side antenna, but found CB just wasn't working well at all for me.

MD3, it's not hard at all. I spent 2 hours looking for that splitter on the driver side antenna to discover that it does not have it in 2017. Mounted a longer whip 3' on the passenger side and ran the coax through the door and dash. Works well.

Anyone have a link to the cb antenna mount/bracket on the driver's side ?
I'm looking to duplicate the radio antenna mount on the driver's side so both sides will be he same antenna setup .... just one is radio and the other side cb.

I've found complete mirror mounting arms but I'd rather just buy the antenna mount if it is available....

If you look at my posts, you'll see I made one using a regular mount. I snaked the coax through the original tube than into the door. Pretty easy, but disappointed in the efficiency of the mirror mounted antennas. I found the RF from my ham radios interfered with the control boxes in the interior cabinets.

So, I'm wondering if removal of the splitter would improve the AM signal. I'm an AM radio junkey and it drives me nuts how bad the AM signal is with lots of engine noise and basically unusable. When stopped, I use the AM/FM radio in the outside TV compartment and ran a different antenna for it up through the refrigerator chimney and mounted a 12 inch rubber whip antenna on top of chimney cover. Works great! But sure would like AM to work going down the highway.

Ric - Certainly worth a try. The splitter, along with a better antenna perhaps.

Go to rightchannel.com and they have the mirror mount and everything you need. The antenna needs to be higher than the cab over for it to work well.
Here is what you need:
FIRESTIK NGP 3-WAY MOUNT CB ANTENNA KIT with 4' antenna.

I've found the entire mirror mount arm with the wiring already plumbed through but I really only need the mint.
This mount is what I am looking for :

Perfect, thank you !!
I just ordered one.

It doesn't show any pics online but hopefully this is the perfect match to the right side.
