Seneca S2RV Chassis Owners Alert...
This was posted on a FB Super C page and thought I would share it here, I will be checking mine tomorrow.
"URGENT NOTICE:
S2RV chassis owners.
Renegade Valencia,
Jayco Seneca
AND possibly any owners with the Cummins 6.7.
Check your air pump supply line on the drivers side of your engine.
We are finding the support clamps are breaking. One S2RV owner had the line break at the air pump, that causes your air brake system to loose supply air, creating an instant emergency. FREIGHTLINER has been notified. That photos show the problem and a fix, at least for now.
There are two attach points, one right by the oil dipstick bracket and one farther back. We are finding that most S2RV chassis inspected have one or both clamps broken. Ours had both broken. I replaced both with $2.99 pair from ACE. See photos. The one on the right is better as it is 66% thicker and much stronger."

The clamp by the dipstick looks easy to replace. How about the one down stream from the dipstick, is that fairly easy to get to?

Kind of funny. I read this post yesterday and my neighbor in the Nashville KOA with a SVR2 Renegade Valencia just got back from the auto parts with the new clamps.

I can see why these are failing after replacing mine. I googled the brand and it is a quality Mil-Spec part but they are using a band that has a 3/8” mounting hole but mounting one with a 1/4” bolt and one mounting on a 6mm stud with no suppot support washers. On mine you can see where the nut was and broke where there was very littl e material on each side. I searched all over town and found 3/4” loops with a 1/4” mounting hole and then supported it top and bottom with a flat washer.

If these broken clamps can potentially impact braking have folks been reporting it to NHTSA for potential recall tracking.

Where did you find your 3/4" loops with a 1/4" mount? Could you give a brand name and part #?

The original post that I found said that Freightliner had been notified of the problem and they are looking into a fix but reporting it cant hurt.

I found them at our local True Value store and they are made by Gardner Bender Part #PPR-1575. I did not find them in the automotive electrical section but in the Home electrical section. Then are the same thickness as the originals but I feel with the correct mounting hole size and the support washers it should be fine but this is something I will keep and eye on and check every time I check the oil level. I did buy and extra pack of 2 and threw in the tool box in case one does break while on the road. Hopefully Freightliner will come up with a better fix......and I am also looking for a better solution.
Searching the part number on Amazon they show up if you cant find locally but the generic picture shows a bigger mounting hole but that is common for them to use a stock photo.

FCCC email
First thing I sent an email this morning to
fcccservice@daimler.com asked for part # of the clamp.
My email also asked if would ship and avoid hastle at shop. Rely to me as follows:
Subject: Re: Air Line clamp part number JXD2Q8JQ9BLW
Gary, I understand your thoughts of waiting at a Freightliner dealer for repairs on this issue. Currently we are investigating the clamps and currently don't have a reason they are breaking. For this reason, it would be best to take the RV to a Freightliner dealer and allow them to replace the clamp. This way we have documentation and the dealer can inspect the torque of the nut etc.
Sincerely,
Rick Houser
FCCC Representative
Second, Rusty think you are spot on. I'm going with your fix. Looks like Ace rubber clamp in first post will work.

I'm not positive, but I think the compressed air system has check valves to prevent rapid depressurization of the air supply from each of air tanks and then to each wheel. You should have enough air to safely come to a stop (at which point the parking brake will automatically engage on loss of air). Thanks for posting this important failure notice.
