We are all having the same problem (easy fix)

Got busy today and fixed the sewer hose problem. I removed the large black sewer pipe going through the compartment floor. Then I removed the small port for the water hose that is located directly in front of the black water valve. I then cut a 6 in. Hole in place of the 4 in. Hole. I then installed the black sewer pipe in the new hole. I then made a larger plastic plate with a 4 in. hole, and installed the smaller water hose fitting. All I did to be able to fit the hose end connections into the black sewer pipe was grind the large tabs small enoughf so the fitting would fit nicely into the sewer pipe. This makes for a straight shot from the black water valve to to the floor of the compartment. I also used a 45* elbow connected to the black water valve.

I hear they eliminated the swing pipe and simplified the assembly on the 2016's and also added a macerator.

I saw the the 2016s are equipped with the macerator. I'll be curious as to how that works out; seems overly complicated to me. I wonder why Jayco engineering didn't just simplify the current gravity dump system. I believe in the KISS principle.

Yes, I agree, keep it simple as you can. As you can see from the above problem with the Jayco factory installation of the swivel pipe. The Jayco design engineers were asleep at the wheel. What were they thinking? It is like they just gave up half way through the project. Another thing I can't figure out is why the fresh water system is located in the same compartment as the sewer! These two systems should be located far apart from one another.

Mwade, Jayco's implementation is the same as on higher end class A coaches. It's more sanitary than my Tiffin was in that I never have to detach the sewer hose inside the wet bay…the messy end is in the swivel pipe. Once the 45 clear pipe and proper fittings are installed you're done with the mess.

i ended up (for now) just adding an end onto the plain hose end that is in the swivel pipe and that attaches onto an extension or the 90 going into the ground
