Seneca slide out question

While inspecting a Seneca today, I was surprised to see that the bottom of the slide-outs were covered with what looked like a woven plastic fabric, almost like a tarp material, that was just stapled on instead of a hard skin.
I'm just curious if that's they way all of Jayco's slides are? I know it's on the bottom, but it sure doesn't look very weather proof. In fact there were two large holes cut into each piece for mounting bolts. The holes looked like they were exposing the bare wood floor.

On our current B+ unit the bottom of the slide-out has a hard skin that is sealed just like the side of the slide. Just curious about that.

They've always been that way. The same on the TT & FW. Our 08 SENECA had the same covering and it was still going strong when we traded it in last year. I wouldn't be concerened about it.
