Seneca Washer Lit

Seems like whenever we “power up” (turn the power on in the step area) of our Seneca the washer “power’s up”. Our’s is a HJ model so to get to the washer to “power it down” we must extend Slide 2. Does anyone have any idea why the washer “power’s up” when the power is turned on?

That is a new one for sure. Is your washer a Splendide? My washer (a Spendide 2100XC) is 120-volt AC only, no 12-volt connection whatsoever.

Does this happen without any shore power or generator power available, or only when AC power is present? If it only happens when AC power is present, I wonder if (somehow) the washer's power outlet somehow has a relay much like the bunk TVs have to prevent the TV from working when the chassis ignition is on? I do know if my Splendide loses power during a cycle it will come back "On" when AC power is restored.

As far as I know no Senecas have the washer on an inverter circuit from Jayco, any chance someone modified your unit? Possibly installed another inverter that is powered off the chassis batteries and is energized only when the coach power is activated?

The mh was purchased new. The washer/dryer are factory installed Whirlpool’s.

Thanks for your input. I’m investigating further.

Confirmed this afternoon that the washer turns on WHEN THE GENERATOR IS RUN. Will find out tomorrow if the same occurs when connected to shore power.

Thanks for your input.

I suspect it will behave the same, both provide AC power to the 120-volt receptacles. I still wonder if the washer is in the middle of a cycle? Do you have water in your system so it run through its cycle if that is what it is trying to do?

Robbbyr you are right on! Appears washer was left “in the middle of a cycle” when we Winterized the unit per Whirlpools instruction’s. Thanks.
