Seneca "wet" weight

Hello Seneca owners Ė please help!

Iím very interested in the newer style Seneca but Iím concerned with the towing capacity. I need to tow between 7,000 and 8,000 lbs; the coach has a 10,000 lb hitch, a GVWR of 28,000 and GCWR of 33,000. If the coach is loaded to the GVWR the towing maximum is only 5,000 lbs Ė not good.

My question is this: has one of you weighed your ďgoing camping (wet)Ē coach? How close were you to the GVWR? I canít find anywhere mention of the Unloaded Vehicle Weight (UVW). Do any of you know this? Thanks for your help!

I tow an 8,000lb 24' enclosed trailer with our Seneca. With full fuel, water, food and clothes it weighed in at 23K and change. Puts me 2K under the GCVWR, I was worried I'd be over. Worked out perfect.

Our 2015 is similar - weighed in at 22,700 with 1/2 tank water and full gear. Plenty of headroom for towing.

At the beginning of our 50 day summer trip with 2 adults, 2 kids, full fuel, 1/3 fresh water, empty black/grey tanks, clothes, food, etc and towing a 4 door Jeep Wrangler our CAT Scale readings were:

8,940 Front Axle
14,320 Drive Axle
4,560 Jeep

Thanks for the reply's. It's interesting that all of you guys weigh in at about 23K. That's really good news for me!

How's the coach do pulling that weight up grades?

We spent time in the Shenandoah NP - Great Smokies NP area without any problems on the steeper grades. There were times where I was in the far right lane w/flashers on; stayed alert to rpm and temps. But, I'm still learning the Jayco's capabilities. Being from coastal Texas doesn't give me much experience with hills

I pulled Saluda grade in NC with no problems. Never dropped below 50mph, the temp did go up and the cooling fan kicked on. Temp went right down within 30sec. Stayed to the left and was passing semi's and other RV's. That's without a trailer.

I also pull a 24ft 8000lbs racecar trailer with no problems.

Wow, you guys have totally convinced me that Senecaís can tow, and tow well! I plan on towing my Silverado 4x4 with a RZR in the bed. I sure like LSA376ís setup Ė nice! Thatís a lot of toys!

Thank you all for taking the time to comment Ė I really appreciate it.
