Sewer pipe too low

I have a 2018 Jayco Redhawk 26. Went to Alaska last year from Florida. Great trip except one constant problem. The roads on the Alaska trip are not perfect and the low clearance that the sewer pipe and connections have poses trouble. Four times it came disconnected, I was lucky and retrieved the connector each time, finally I zip tied so I wouldn't lose it! Has anyone had this trouble? The dealer added another bracket witch broke on the Alaska trip! Looking for suggestions. Thanks! Steve

is it in the back of the trailer? pic might help...


if back of the trailer then maybe cutting it off and re-plumbing it if you can would be a solution or raise the trailer up on the axles...

A couple pictures would help. I have cut and plumbed, do to dragging. Alot depends on angles, distances, etc.

I used to own a Trailmanor where the problem was blowouts adjacent to the plumbing. One fix was to fabricate a protective cradle around and under the drains. You can go to their site Trailmanor owners forum and possible see a picture of the mod.

I have had the same problem and have had the "Y" connector knocked off once, myself. Unfortunately, it is the nature of the beast and is the way the manufacturer designed the drain system to work. The best thing I found to do is to tighten up the mounting strap to take out all of the play and hope for the best. If you re-plumb and get the drain higher, you will have the problem of getting your tanks to completely drain, and that can cause more of a problem in the long run than simply having to be very careful in unlevel areas. If you have low hanging plumbing the Trailmanorownersforum website has a some suggestions on how to put a protective cradle around it. Here is a link to some pics. This one is made to protect against blowouts flinging tire rubber back into the drain connections.

I have a 2018 Red Hawk 26XD that had the same issue.
When I repaired it, I installed the dump valves with the handles up.
Makes it a little harder to dump, but I have not had to do the repair again.

Good idea. I’ll have to look to see if I have the clearance to make that happen. I don’t want a knuckle buster either.
