Sewer smell.

Sewer smell. So we took our first trip to Florida for the first time on our class C we actually stay at a hotel because we couldn’t find a space on time. So we used the bathroom a little on coming back we pulled over at a rest area, cranked on The gas heat and went to sleep couple hours later we started getting the strong smell of sewage so I turn off the gas and turn on the electric and the smell went away. anybody has any issues with that? 2016 Greyhawk.
Felix.

That could be a propane leak and should be investigated.

We had sewer smell in our HTT when we arrived to our destination more than once. I decided as we drive the water sloshes around in the P-Traps and drains off to the tanks, allowing stinky sewer air to pass. The shower is our worst offender, so I now keep a sewer plug in the drain. We will also add a pour a little water down the drains to ensure the traps are wet if we have any sewer smells.

Good Luck

My guess was that the heat system is close to the tank so as the night got colder the heat kept running and the fan was pulling the smell from the tank. Who knows.

Open a window near the furnace for fresh air intake.

We find this to be true for us... also right after we dump our Black and Grey tanks, we go back and put a little water in all of the P-Traps. After refilling the P-Traps, the smell is gone until we dump or move again.

It seems that the large vacuum created in the grey tank when dumping causes enough suction to draw the water in the P-Trap down the drain. So we just run the faucet/shower a few seconds after we arrive in camp or dump.
