Short queen

I have a jayco class c Melbourne 2008
The bedroom slide will not stay closed during travel. It closes then after barely going 20 miles it starts to open about .5 to one inch. Every time I stop I pull it back in.
We have used 2 different queen mattress and they do butt up against the cabinets when closed.
Has anyone used a short queen In their R.v.? Will this solve the problem? I don’t know anyone that has used one.

Thank you

Have you checked the brake on the slide motor to be sure it is in the locked position? The handle is on the end of the motor.

We had similar problem with 2019 Greyhawk 30x full wall slide. We use a 1 inch rod as a transport bar behind the slide when we travel. That has worked perfectly, just remember to remove the bar before trying to extend the slide.

Good luck.

Where do you find a transport bar and where does it go on the motorhome.
Sorry if this is basic but all new to me.
Thank you

Measure the mattress. We already have a short Queen in ours. That is what came in the RV. Most RVs have short queens. At least most I have ever owned. Ours closes and holds fine. You may have some mechanical issue. The mattress does butt the drawers but does not push out while traveling.

I just bought a 1-1/8 inch dowel rod from menards. I cut it to length and put rubber caps on the end for grip. Same caps as used for chair legs.

The rod goes behind the slide trim when you have it in the retracted position. It goes between the slide and the exterior wall.
