Slide out Topper help

I have a 2014 Greyhawk 31DS and want to put slide out toppers on it. I am told by two RV service's that It can't be done due to the wide flange on the slide out and the window and fridge vent being so close to the flange. Has anyone put a topper on the front slide of a 14 DS? THX

Smile Slide topper

Just read your post and went right over to the dealeship where they are in the middle of installing my 2 slide toppers. I have a 2015 Jayco Greyhawk KS. Same situation with the fridge vent. It's either cut the bracket down a 1/4 inch or remove the fridge vent ? I opted to remove the fridge vent. He will then replace the vent using some sort of sticky puddy ??? This guy has been at it a long time and knows what he's doing !!! I hope ?

Good Luck

I used Carefree

I did mine with Carefree toppers and had to do some work. On the front slide I trimmed the bracket some to be sure it didn't hit the window glass, and trimmed the flange corner piece to get further away from the glass. This may not have been necessary as the bracket fit under the glass.

On the rear bracket I notched the trim of the fridge vent.

On the rear slide I put the brackets on the slide flange instead of below it.

Carefree has a long and short bracket and I used long on both slides.

I have a 2014 31DS and had the dealer install Carefree slide awnings before I took possession of the rig. The installer didn't mention any issues, I assume he figured it out.

I bought them with the rv. I think it was around $1000 for both slides installed.
