Slide outs

Two weeks ago we drove our 2017 Jayco Melbourne motorhome using the generator for power. The a/c, slide outs, awning and stabilizer worked great with the generator. Today we tried using the generator for the same features and the a/c was the only thing that would work. Any thoughts?

Battery disconnect since it sounds like you're not getting enough 12 volt amperage to operate those items.

Slide outs,etc.

So the problem could be the house battery?

I don't own your particular type unit. But I am not sure why you need the generator to operate the slide out, awning and stabilizer. I have always thought that most all of those pieces were battery powered. The ac should require the generator unless you have the full package of solar, inverter and decent amount of battery capacity.

So do you have dedicated battery banks with any inline fuses leading to a power panel? Any cut off switches for your battery operated house current?

2017 23RB Jayco Jayflight, great camper, loved it but sold, dog told me she needed more room, rigged perfectly and updated for off the grid.

Doubtful it's the battery itself since the geny started unless it struggled to start, but the connection that provides power to all the things that aren't working.

Then your battery may be the issue.

A few month back was showing my wife how to start gen. It wouldn't turn after a few cranks. Went to house battery and cleaned dirty terminals. That did the trick. First make sure terminal connections are clean and tight.

Just run the slide on 12 volt power. No generator, no chassis motor running. My 2021 Jayco Redhawk will not move the slide if Chevy chassis is running.
