Our unit did not come with them but were given to us by the dealer to help keep the slides closed at the top

It depends what kind of slide you have weather you need a slide lock or not. I have a small sofa slide which has no support at the top to keep it tight, so it came with and needs a slidelock. Without the slidelock the top can slightly move in and out during travel, stressing the components and making for a loose seal. If the slide does not seal completely at the top when retracted then it could need adjusting, but for now the slidelock should bring it in to the sealed position.

My older Greyhawk 27 DS came with "travel bars". My new 2016 29 MV did not and so far so good.

I just purchased a used Greyhawk 27DS and it came with the travel bars. Where is the best place to install them on the slides?
Thanks.

My 2004 27DS had two stickers on top of the slide wall where the travel bars (slide locks) should be placed. They were placed above the living room slide about 1 foot from each end. The bedroom slide had only 1 travel bar which was placed on top of the slide in the middle. A step stool was needed to see and reach over the living room slide. I stood on the bed to install/remove the bedroom slide travel bar. I suggest putting a reminder note on both slide switches to tell you to remove the travel bars before opening the slides! Guess how I learned that tip?

Mine didn't come with bars. My dealer didn't tell me I needed any. As far as I know, they aren't needed on the 2015s.

However I DO travel w/ them. Heaven forbid my slides fail, I'll feel better coming home w/ them braced.

Thanks very much for the info. That is about what I figured since there are 3 travel bars that came with the motorhome. I'll put streamers on them or something!
