Slide Toppers

I know I’ve read somewhere on the forum that folks have installed their own slide toppers and I’m curious if anyone has done a 2016 Greyhawk 29MV ?
I measured the slideouts and one is 140” and the other is 83”.
The distance from the top of the slide is only a little over 1” when closed. Does anyone have a picture of what they look like finished?
I know most 18 and 19 models come with it now and I’m curious how they fit the top track.
Any info and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jimmyd

Jimmy, not sure these pictures show what you need.

Thanks Mike. It looks like they are almost level with the retraction system. I take it the bracket on the coach is fastened just below the rain gutter? Also do you know what brand they may be? They don’t look like Carefree.

I have the 2015 29MV of which after purchase I went to Camping World and had the toppers put on. Was about $1300.

Different grades more $$ or less.

Thanks GrayHawk51, that seems like a very fair price installed. I’ll need to check that out. Jimmyd

My son and I installed 2 awnings on my 29mv. Took about 3 hours. First time we've ever done this. Wasn't that hard to do. Used solara awnings and watched some utube videos. Cost about 650. Very happy with the outcome.

Thanks Steve, I just reviewed the Solara Toppers on the Etrailer web site The cost is just as you said and they look good. Thanks for that info. Jimmyd

Jimmy, CW has a few of those on sale now, I believe. Think I saw it in their last flyer.

Thank you Cabinetmaker, I will need to check that out. When I looked on line the only brand I could find that fit were made by Solera.
I will dig deeper into it this week.
Have a great weekend it’s perfect weather for camping.

Yes, perfect weather! We’re leaving Monday for Fredericksburg Tx. For a week. Fall colors, cooler weather and some German food...can’t wait!

Sounds like a great trip. We too enjoy good German food. Recently sold our Georgia Mountain home near Helen, Ga. where every September and October they have a huge Ictober Fest. Lots of good food, beer and dancing.
Enjoy the fall colors and great food. Jimmyd

Jimmy, here a a couple more pictures. Looks like the slide toppers attach using the existing rain gutter that runs the full length. They attach to the slide just under and beside the face trim that runs all 4 sides of the slide exterior.

Thanks Mike, I didn’t realize that they don’t have covers over the awning material like the Class A’s. That’s different.
