slideout Awnings

Hi Folks
I want to put on Slide Awnings on a 31 DS.
It seems there is not a lot of angle from the Factory
Awning rail to the top of the slide.
Maybe a 2 inch drop.
Has anyone had a issue with the rain clearing the topper?
Also on the 31 ds the is a decorative piece on each corner of the slide
any issue mounting the bracket around this ?
Thanks

Katie...We have the factory slide toppers. As you can see they don’t slope much at all but rain does run off. The brackets mount inside the corners on the flat part of the sides. Hard to see but this is best picture I had.

I had the dealer install a topper on our 2018 30x. I see a little sag but the rain runs off without issue either over the topper or off the ends. Right now in PA we have had tremendous rainfall this past week and I have had no issue.

My toppers

This is the carefree set up on my 2018 31DS. Dealer installed before I left the lot. Didn't affect the corner trim at all.

I installed toppers on both slides of my 29MV. During a heavy rain, water will pool on the larger slide out, so I pull the slide in to dump the topper after the rain stops.

Our fifth wheel was ordered with the toppers, and we're glad we did. There's not much slope to ours as others have mentioned, and we do get pooling above the largest slides as well, but that's water that would've had to find a way off the top of the slides (read as "possible leak into the camper"!)

All four of our slides have the Carefree toppers on them.

I have a 2016 29MV. Would you be able to share the make/model number of the topper you installed over the rear (bedroom) slideout?
My local CW location has given up finding one to fit over the wider 'flange' of the rear slide.
Thanks!
Ron

Certainly. All products are CareFree of Colorado. I ordered everything from (ironically) Camping World. My order invoice, with item numbers, is attached to this post. Note that all of my hardware and fabric are white. Black components will have different item numbers.

I recently purchased our Greyhawk from Camping World, and I have yet to encounter a business as consistent as they are... consistently inept. All you need are the "tall" mounting brackets, and they will clear the flange with no problems.
