Wonder if there are any suggestions for which ones to order?

(I'm kidding, of course there are some suggestions!)

Bit the bullet and ordered the toppers and having them installed Feb. 5. Thanks for all your responses.

Do your research on the slide out topper material. I've heard from other sources that some material doesn't last too long.

We had slide toppers installed at the Jayco factory when our HT 27.5rkds was built. Would not be without them. While heat is not too much of an issue here in NH, leaves, twigs, and pine needles are.

After reading all the pro's of having the slide toppers, I ordered them for my 29MVP that we are taking delivery on March 1st. This forum is great for information and idea's.

M-T:
I'd like to keep in touch with you because I'll probably get the same unit (29mvp) and want to know how you like it, experiences (pros and cons), etc. Btw, did you get the 2a/c, larger frig and aluminum tire rims?

Not to Hy-Jack the thread but does anyone use anything under the sideout toppers to hold them from sagging?

Only rained on us once since they were installed and I didn't see a need.

JayTalk. I got a good deal on one that was in stock at the local dealer who I have worked with in the past. No to the two air conditioners, and yes to the larger refrigerator and alum. wheels. Because of the time of year and areas we like to travel, I think the two air conditioners were not important to us. After we pick it up next week I'll give you an update. We actually have spent time in one they had in the show room on several occasions.

I know this thread is somewhat "aged", but I have a question for those of you with Greyhawks.

Does your "gutter" include a channel that would accommodate a topper?

I was looking at mine the other night trying to figure out what I need for gutter extensions, and there is clearly a channel in the edge of the gutter that looks conspicuously like it would hold an awning.

I'd like to get toppers, but selling all those holes in the wall to DW will be a hard sell. If I can convince her there are fewer holes because our gutters were designed for the toppers, it'll be much easier to sell her the upgrade.

Either way, I plan to do the labor myself, with a pair or two of "extra" hands of course!

I’ve ordered some carefree “slideout cover” covers for my 2018 Redhawk 26XD that I plan to install. My dealer says they won’t work because of something to do with how they mount and only the carefree “slideout kover III” will work. Carefree says they should install with mo problems. Anybody install the carefree “slideout cover” covers on their redhawk successfully? Thx!

I was able to successfully install the carefree "slideout cover" model on my 26XD. I installed them this past weekend without any issue. The only thing I recommend if someone is going to install them on their own is to predrill tap holes for the awning rail screws because they are not self drilling like all of the other screws included.
