Slider awnings
Just bought 2018 Greyhawk but there are no slider awnings. We are looking to get them installed. Has anyone done this?

As I write this, my camper is in the shop getting two slideout covers installed.

Wow, I see there is a bracket above each slider. Did you have to screw into it or does something slide on to it and then how does it attach to slider. How did you learn how to put it on?

Going to have the dealer install all 5 on mine in the spring. One of my previous trailers had them on it and they are nice. My previous trailer didn't have them and I hated it. I was going to have them installed, but I didn't keep it long enough. I lived all last year without them on my current one and not doing that anymore.

If you are mechanically inclined or have a friend or two that are, they are an easy DIY install. I put one on my 29RKS last season in an hour. Do a search. There are a number of posts on this forum on how to do it.

slider awning
Had two put on my 2017 26xd by a local shop that works on rvs. Had them on my prev cl c that I had for 11yrs. After 2 trips with this new one I saw how much trash got on top of slides it was a no brainer to have them put on. I am much too old to be going on the roof to clean the slides off. Amazing how many rv*s do not have them

For us, this is a "Must Have". Had one trailer without them and the temperature difference is considerable. Do it yourself or have a dealer install. Always worth it.

We ordered the installation of two slide toppers from the dealer prior to our receiving our 2018 Greyhawk 29MV in November. They were expensive but we wouldn't have it any other way. Now I don't have to carry an electric leaf blower and clean the tops of the slides every time they are retracted. And I didn't feel comfortable standing on a ladder juggling the toppers or drilling holes into the side of the MH in freezing cold weather or wind. To me, there are somethings better left to the professionals.

Another benefit if your bed slides out is noise when it rains. Sound level was unbearable for us and it wasn't even raining hard. Mark Polk has a youtube video that details installation process but a quick search I couldn't find the link I was thinking of. I ended up having the dealer install mine after a year of ownership and my next RV will have them before I take delivery.

I know you posted it once before, but please tell me again who did the installation for you and how long it took. Having a challenge to find someone reputable here in Las Vegas.

Crown RV in Conyers, Ga. Same dealer I bought the RV from. It only took 1/2 day. I had the RV in for warranty work and when I picked it up asked for a price on toppers. They measured and gave me a price before I left. I ordered it and when it came in I brought the RV back for the 1/2 day install. Funny story is I cheaped out and only ordered the bed slide topper because of the noise when trying to sleep. They ordered it and it turns out the dinette topper was in the Crown inventory. The Tech didn't look at the work order and assumed I wanted both or at least that is what they told me. When I picked it up I pointed out the mistake and they discounted the dinette topper and didn't charge the $150 labor to install it. I'm glad both are done and it worked out for me.

Thanks for your responses. Need 2 toppers, $600 labor, seems high. May try to put them on ourselves. Just don't want to mess up $1100 we paid for the 2 awning toppers.

Greyhawk 29ME has them installed
Just ordered a Greyhawk 29ME with full body paint and not sure if the toppers come with the paint option but they are there on all 3 slide outs. Great option that eliminates going up on the roof to sweep them off. Also as part of this order it has the dual 11K ac units that I have seen discussed in another thread. I had looked at the Greyhawk 26Y but for a little more money I think I got a lot more. Picking it up Friday and looking forward to it.

I just did not want to deal with anything longer than 26' . We liked the 29MV but just bought the 26' but it didn't come with toppers. Should have had them installed before coming home so will have them done here. I liked the ME except for the stove being next to furniture even though there was a small divider. Don't like to have to fold up bed on the 26' but it was that or go longer. Choice was to stay short

Same issue here. We picked up our 2017 Greyhawk just before Christmas. Along with a trailer for a motorcycle, the sliders are top of the upgrade list. Since we do not have a ladder installed (read bedroom slide), we either have to carry a 14' one along or hope we don't have anything on the slides when we depart.
I was going to order them online and see if a local RV repair and consignment place would install.
