OP I prime mine and it still takes up to 10 sec to fire... sometimes it takes longer especially after sitting.. it starts alllllmost... then prime it again then usually 5-10 sec and it goes... mine is old though but always has had non oxy in it... after it runs then the next restart is 3 sec or so... but mine never "starts right up" i doubt others do either...

The Prime comes from holding STOP button on the ONAN; suspect it is simpy running fuel pump enough to fill float bowl and get Needle-seat to close.
