Sofa baseboard options

Hey everyone,

I have a 2011 Greyhawk FK and the leather covered baseboard under the front of the sofa becomes detached from the metal frame when driving because the screw holes are now stripped (only term I could come up with). Apparently, the previous owners must have mistakenly pulled on it when trying to fold down the sofa into a flat position and it wore out the holes for the three wood screws in the baseboard. Anyway, I'm trying to devise a "nice" way to fix the issue so I thought I'd see if anyone else has already encountered the same problem and come up with a solution? I don't really want to punch holes through the leather, so looking for some creativity.

White glue and toothpicks in the holes this will tighten them back up..

Assumption; you have easy access to the screw that is stripped. The screw is threaded into wood. The head of the screw was not pulled through the panel.

I like to use a drop of Gorilla glue in the screw head. Then carefully thread the screw in and clamp the panel (possibly us a little painters tape to hold it until the glue sets).

Caution, if you have never used gorilla glue it is not like white glue. Gorilla glue reacts with moisture and foams, expanding 4-10 times the original amount, so use it sparingly. A little will go a long way. Try it on a sheet of cardboard before using it your first time.

Sounds like Gorilla or White glue is the solution....I'll give that a try and I'll try the toothpicks. Thanks!
