If you are going to remove the dash to get the radio out, just buy the PAC harness that disables the park brake requirement.

You basically wire the remote on (for external amplifiers) to the park brake switch. When you turn the key on, the remote on powers up and the PAC will fool the radio into thinking the park brake is always on.

I installed it after dealing with the theft nonsense.

And as a side note, grounding the park brake wire may not work. Apline in their infinite wisdom now looks for a double signal, so if you just ground it the radio still will not work.
