New radio

We had it installed, however the shop said it was a very easy install. I decided to have it done since Jayco reimbursed for most of it.

What really grinds my gears is needing to have a DVD player than runs on AC.

What I really want is a double DIN unit with an HDMI output that can play DVD's and AVI files from a USB stick. Change the TV to a 12v and you don't need shore power to watch movies.

Where did you get the radio replaced at? And did the Sony have navigation as well?

I forgot to add the OEM cameras still work with the Pioneer too.
I also bought this Pioneer unit, no regrets! I did add a Shakespeare SRA-50 Galaxy SiriusXM Satellite antenna to the roof, to eliminate coverage issues. Love it.

When using the Sony 8000 stereo for navagation or anything else does the phone have the same view as the main Sony screen or is the phone screen blank? I would like to be able to view both since the Sony would not be facing the driver but the phone could be.
Also did you install the unit yourself or have it installed. I have a Mercedes Sprinter van chassis and am wondering if the install would be difficult.

Thanks

My iPhone has its own screen, and when plugged into my AX8000 it displays CarPlay which is a selection of CarPlay-friendly apps (Apple and Google Maps, Spotify, Waze, a few others). My RV is a 2020 Melbourne Prestige which is based on 2019 MB Sprinter 3500 cutoff Van. I chose to have the miserable Soundstream stereo removed and Song installed by a pro stereo shop. I also added a Kicker powered sub but all other speakers are stock. Took them about 3-4 hours to do the work including installing the sub between seats. Love my stereo now.

So all three of your cameras work and you didn’t have to do anything extra?

I’m looking at the
JVC KW-Z1000W or
Stinger Heigh10 or
Sony XAV-AX8000

I want to be able to hook up rear and side cameras and use my iPhone with it.
Any suggestions???

Thanks, Roger
