Soundstream Replacement

Looking at replacing the Soundstream in our 2020 Jayco. Anyone running the 2021 with the Sony recommend it?

Our soundstream pos lasted one trip before I tossed it into the garbage. The navigation never worked from day one. Rather than have the dealer troubleshoot and install another pos soundstream, I bought and installed a Pioneer AVIC-W8400NEX. Everything fit and connected easily to the OEM wiring. The pioneer sounds great, the navigation is awesome, and my wife likes the Apple Car Play.

I forgot to add the OEM cameras still work with the Pioneer too.

Ours hasn't worked right either. Back up camera not working Three times at the dealer and still not working right - latest issue is whenever parking brake is released it blows the fuse. Thinking we'll follow your thread and replace it. Still trying to figure out camera

We went the Elev8. We swapped out the video switcher for the cameras which is not needed since it has 4 ports for the cameras. I think we did have to order some port adapters from Amazon.

I really like the Android auto feature, works well.

Does anyone know which Sony the 2021 is coming with? I haven't been able to find out yet.

Replaced radio

The new Sony with the 10” screen is $600+ on crutchfield. Instead I bought the Dual Electronics XDCPA11BT - 10" Double DIN In-Dash Car Stereo with Built-In Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & Bluetooth. It was only $250 from Amazon and took me 30 minutes to switch out the sound stream.

Crutchfield says it won’t fit the Ford E series, but it does.

I switched out the now discontinued Jayco Sound Stream audio for a Pioneer WT7600NEX. Very satisfied - powers the two Alpine door speakers and the four ceiling speakers very loudly if so inclined. No loss of features with the Pioneer. Now have Apple Car Play which is awesome.

Do you know if it support both read & side-view cameras on the Greyhawk?

New radio in 2020 Greyhawk

We replaced the inferior Soundstream with the Sony XAV-AX8000. Works great, all cameras work, much better sound and Apple CarPlay. Called Jayco and they allowed money towards it and half hour of installation.

XAV-AX8000 only has one camera Input so you’d have to choose. Or, put a small manual video switcher in your car, connect the cameras to that and the other side of the switcher to the deck. Not perfect but it’ll work.

I’m replacing the crappy Soundstream with the AX8000 as well in my 2020 Melbourne Prestige. Jayco should be ashamed of themselves for putting this garbage into a premium RV for as long as they have.

Switcher in the Sony

There must be a switcher built in because all 3 cameras work perfectly. And it’s nice that the sound on the radio does not come on when you engage the turn signal like it did with the Soundstream.

Great to hear - I think that's what I'm going to do! Did you have it installed or DIY? If DIY, how difficult?
