I recently bought a 2016 Jayco Melbourne 24L. I was told that they don’t come with a spare tire. I was hoping for some feedback of what options there are in getting a spare and also storage or mounting it.
Thanks
We bought a similar model in 2017. I was concerned about not having a spare having read about roadside services taking over a day to obtain the correct size tire. So I bought a Mercedes Sprinter wheel on eBay and had our local tire shop mount a tire. I then installed a winch that raises and lowers the spare similar to the method used by some pickups. We haven’t needed the spare during our 45,000 miles in the Melbourne but it has been comforting just knowing we have it.
Just had a tire blow on Monday coming home. Real glad I had a mounted spare. Back on the road 20 to 30 mins after the service tech arrived to change it (inner wheel on the dually).
