Spare tire

I have a 2008 Jayco Seneca 36MS. I would like to take a spare tire with me on the road. Do you guys have any suggestions? It appears to have enough room at the under side rear to have a spare mounted. Is that feasible? Any other suggestions? It's a 245/70 19.5 tire. Thanks! Trish

I would think more trouble than its worth and adds extra weight. You plan to change an inside dual on the road if it goes out?

Not necessarily, we still have the roadside assistance plan and would call them, some have said they show up what they have in stock and that could be some junk Chinese made tire that doesn't match. If it was in a safe location I carry an electric impact wrench a nice bottle jack and some boards to set it on so doing myself would be no problem. As far as weight it's only around 100 pounds.

You also should consider the extortion price for a tire when you don't have one. Normal price $200 extortion price $1000

Never had that experience but did have to get a new steel rim once. It was ordered from a tire shop at a fair price.

I see lots of commercial trucks with a I mounted tire strapped to the back.
It may be prudent on a long trip.

My Jayco came with a spare under the rear. Have had to use it several times over the years. It is nice to know what is going on when the road service people get there. Had a friend without one (spare tire), told the Road service what he had, they drove out nearly a hundred miles and had the wrong tire. went back and came back with the wrong wheel but right tire and had to remount it in the truck. All this time they are siting about 6 inches off the road on a truck filled highway. Yep, spare tire will be there.

I'm sorry, but I don't read it that way.

I mounted one on our 08 35GS. Got the hoist from this company.

You will need to get some angle iron to set between the frame rails and shim it up about 2 inches.

I put one in the rear storage compartment on my '12 31SS. There is more room in there than I'll ever use. Hope I never need it and would use Good Sam if I needed a change.
