Speckles on outside trim strip

Red spots are on the outside trim strip that runs horizontally down both sides of our Greyhawk. Spoke with the service manager of our dealership who suggested Tile-X and, if that didn’t work, automotive rubbing compound. Tried both on a small section but neither removed the spots.

Anyone ever seen this or have some ideas? Thanks.

It looks like mold. Do you live in a humid or wet climate? Do you store it outside?

Yes, North Carolina is a very humid place for many months of the year. And it is stored outside, uncovered.

The dealership service manager thought it was mold, also, which is why he said to first try the Tile-X with bleach. That didn’t do anything, but I might try it again.

Try a Magic Eraser, it's amazing what they remove.

Will get a Magic Eraser and try it. Will also try Comet and report back results.

I worked for awhile as a draftsman (long ago) and have a Magic Rub eraser which we used to remove inked lines from Mylar plan sheets. Tried that on a whim, but nothing doing.

Keep those cards and letters coming, kids.

Someone posted the exact same issue earlier this summer. Maybe worth doing a search. I think it might have been on a TT.

I've got the same spots on the trim around front storage door, but only on the side that faces west. The east side is against the house, and doesn't get any direct sun. I tried the Magic Eraser to no avail, and carefully applied bleach a couple of times, and all it did was lighten them up a little. I'm not sure if our two kinds of mold are the same, but I'm ordering some new trim for it

If you find a way to get rid of it better, let us know. I'm sure there's a bunch more folks that have the same spots.

I cleaned mine off with a scratch less scour pad and ajax. I do recall using Tilex, bathroom tile bleach scrub other occasions. A lot of elbow grease and it all came off.
