Stabilizer question

Hello all. I'm sitting here in Isaias tropical storm and it feels like I'm on a 747 in heavy turbulence. All of a sudden, I'm reconsidering manual stabilizers. I have a 13,000 lb Redhawk. Any recommendations for stabilizers (permanently or temporary install) and where do they attach to the chassis? Thanks for the help.

Hydraulic will probably be the best for stabilization, but they will cost a fortune to have installed. Depending on the unit, expect $3+K.

Old fashion hand crank are nice. I like to add a piece of wood under them to spread out the weight, especially on softer soils. I also re tighten them usually after a day or so.

Under the frame is best. I would consider about 6 in total. One set up front near the front axle. One set in front of the rear axles, and another set well behind the rear axle.

Be safe!

You could get a jack or borrow one, buy some concrete blocks and wood and jack it up slightly then put blocks and wood up to bottom to add more support. Pretty old fashioned but cheap and simple for a one time fix. Not really for traveling though.

We have 2 sets of these stabilizers. I use one set under the rear under the hitch crossplate and one under the frame of my kwikee steps. While not perfect, it makes a huge difference in body movement when camping. Plus they compact and store very easily.
