Storage Compartment Locking Latch Handle

Two of my outside storage compartments latches are locked shut and I cannot open them. All others work fine. Seems like the lock cores may have gone bad.

There are no part/model numbers on the handles but there is a "G" logo so I believe they are made by Creative Products Group. Photos below.

Has anyone else had and solved this problem?
Can the lock cores be replaced or do the entire handles need replacing?
Any idea what the part number of these handles?

I'm worried if I replace these I won't be able to match the key and have to yet another key to tote around.

Will the key go in?
If so insert and gently start tapping the key, begin to wiggle key as you do this.
Remove key and blow compressed air in and around lock, repeat.
Be patient, if that fails squirt some wd-40 and let set, repeat above.
The pins are aligning with the key in, its just that these sit out in the weather and dirt, get gummy or a little corroded.
If key won't go in maybe something is in keyway.
Good luck,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, the key goes in and I was working it back and forth frantically to no avail. It was working before and the keys still work in all other compartments so its not the keys.

You must be right - there's dirt in there. Will get a can of air as you suggest and blow them out. My old man told me never lube locks with WD40 so for once I'll listen to him and try graphite first. If that doesn't work I'll move onto WD40 or PBB.

For those who may be interested I called Jayco and the supplier of the doors and slam latches is Challenger. The manufacturer of the slam latches and keys is Global Link.

The Jayco part number of the slam latch is 0306146 which I think translates to Global Link part number BLL-50301-2006-1PK. NOTE: verify this for yourself before ordering. The proper part depends on many factors like cutout size and door thickness. They sell them @ Amazon and eTrailer.

Once I get this figured out I'll report back.

WD is not going to hurt it, you are trying to get it to work.
After it works blow WD out let dry real good and use granite.
Be patient, work it, it may take a while.
My truck box lock did the same thing, struck solid, hammered ,blew air gently worked key,WD, and it started moving ever so much, and finally came free.

WD40 combined with repeatedly moving key in/out worked. Thanks for the advice.

I dissembled one of the latches but it doesn't look like the cylinder cores can be replaced. The cores are held in place by mechanisms that are pressed in. Have to replace the entire latch which would be easy to do.
