Hi Don - I have a 2021 Redhawk 24B. I have now had my 3-piece driveline balanced as a single assembly at a regional driveline shop. I got another bearing from L&W Engineering, but didn't install because the existing one looked good.
Wondering if your new bearing made a difference or not.
I'm now at the stage of looking for next steps, since I know I have a well balanced driveline.
Appreciate any suggestions based on your experience.

The drive bearing caper is back on...

StanCrock,
Sorry, but I missed your post until now.
Although I got my bearing last summer it's not until now that I am again active on the problem.

My contact at L&W engineering disappeared after telling me he would get instructions on replacing the bearing myself.

I finally got ahold of the VP of sales at L&W engineering and found out that my contact had left the company.

So I am on a restart and they now suggest that I DO NOT replace it myself. They did agree to pay to have a shop replace it.

So I am looking for a shop as the ford truck dealer is backed up.

BW: When I discussed this with L&W I voiced my disbelief that this was a bearing since the vehicle was new. They told me that they were pretty sure the problem was my bearing, based on my symptoms. Furthermore, they said the problem was not detectable by looking at the bearing. It was not so much a wear-out problem as a noise problem. So I wonder if that is still your problem.

You mentioned your driveline is balance did they also shim it?

Thanks Don. Tested my 2021 24B Redhawk 7.3 ltr V8 yesterday and appears to be running smooth now up to 70 mph. Got the driveline balanced as one unit, and re-shimmed with 2 in the front bearing carrier, none in the rear. Never did change out my front bearing carrier, but believe I still have as a spare.
I have a few longer trips planned, so will up date if it starts to vibrate again.

Don - Is That Sandy Ore you're in?
I also found it quite difficult to find a Ford commercial truck dealer who would do the work for me. The first one had me on a wait list for 8 months. Then I found Way-Scarf Ford, Auburn WA who said they've done quite a few RVs with vibrating drivelines. They were able to get me in within a week, then another 2 weeks to get the driveline back, installed and re-shimmed. Their tech omitted the shims on both front & back bearing carriers, so I added back the front shims myself - only took a hour to do, and get the carrier bolts re-torqued. Good luck.

StanCrock,
I am in Sandy, Utah.
Our problems may be different. I do not have a vibration just a subtle howling noise between 65 and 70.

Did you ever add the second idler pulley from the sticky thread?

I feel a slight vibration in the chassis at exactly 50 MPH. No higher or lower, and no noise. If you're not looking for it, you would probably not notice.
I noticed it because I have the same slight harmonic vibration in my Mustang at exactly 70 MPH. But the entire Mustang drivetrain is not Stock, so I figure I'll just live with it...
