Summer vacation trip?

We are working on plans for a late summer trip - Aug/Sept - and not sure where we want to go. We are traveling in our 26' Redhawk, and would like to go without towing a car. The original plan was to drive Route 66 as much as possible from St. Louis to the west coast. We've been seeing so much info on the five national parks in Utah, though, that we are thinking we might enjoy that trip more. Last two years have been Acadia National Park and Yellowstone, so we do enjoy national parks. Has anyone done either of these trips in a smaller RV without a tow vehicle? Were you able to go everywhere you wanted and see things? Thanks - Mike

Been to Bryce Canyon and Zion. If you're just going to stay at the nearby campgrounds then no, it's not a problem. but if you want to see the two parks you either need a vehicle or you can rent one at each location as there are towns just outside the parks.
