Good point! My misunderstanding was that I (incorrectly) assumed everything went through the converter. But only the AC for the DC parts of the RV goes through the converter. The AC for all the AC components are still unprotected.

Thanks for clearing this up and being patient with me ;-). I will be ordering an EMS or surge protector before my next trip.
