Technical Service Bulletin #21-037

Hi folks. I just received a TSB affecting my 2021 Melbourne (among other Class Cs). It states these motorhomes require installation of a seal under the slide out….without the seal, insects and dust can enter the vehicle. It has been since last fall since I looked under our slide out when camping and I did not notice any seal missing. Have any of you noticed a missing seal or have taken your rig in to a dealer for this procedure? Guess I will be getting my rig out of storage and check it out. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I’ve heard and seen pictures of this. The required seal in the bottom of the slide out is directly above the generator exhaust. Jayco fails to mention that besides insects and dust, carbon monoxide can enter your coach. It’s important to get this taken care of ASAP.

It was on a Facebook group. Jayco Redhawk/Greyhawk Owners. It’s an excellent group to join.
Second picture shows the Jayco fix.

Here’s a shot of the entire slide and the rubber covers.
Sorry the picture won’t download but you can see it in the last picture top left.

I have a 2021 Jayco Melbourne 24L and noticed I can see light through the slide floor when I changed out my theater seating. I thought that was not right. I called the dealer yesterday and they are looking into getting the parts to fix it. It didn't sound like the service writer even new about the recall.

Appreciate this post. I thought I just had a heating and cooling issue until I started to see the amount of daylight coming through. So I'm certain this will be on my list as soon as I'm home. Did someone suggest that they were able to install the seals themselves? Not sure I want to do that but not sure I want to have my rig gone for two months.

The pictures I posted were of the pieces Jayco sent directly to the owner which he installed himself.

I have a 2021 melbourne 24L. I wondered why we would get cold air from under the u shape dinette and why I could see light under the dinette. Checked it out, no seal. Called local dealer, first question from the dealer, "did you buy the unit from us?", I answered no and was told I would have tobe put on a list, meaning, "we will get to you when we feel like it". Thought about doing it myself, but still would have to get the part from the dealer and would need tech assist from them also. Just going to wait until I am called.

My Denver dealer said I would have to bring the coach in and wait for the parts to be ordered and installed. Well, that could be 4-6 months, not going to happen. If anyone knows how to source the covers from Jayco’s supplier, whoever that may be, we are all ears. Thanks.

In Denver also, taking the coach in on Monday, if it needs the seals they will order them and I will need to bring it back for installation. Not sure how long it takes for dealership to get them though!

Changed theater seats

Hi He82much, I also have a 2021 24L that I finally got in November. You said you changed out your theater seats? Was wondering why and what you put in? Thanks Mroons

Tsb 21-037

Update on the TSB 21-037 on my 2021 Melbourne 24L. Got the rig out of storage today and took photos underneath the slide. The two open channels (called slide room channel locks) cannot have a seal or any other cover over them. It would impede the slide from moving. There is not opening at the back of these channels that would allow for air, dirt or critters to enter the coach. As shown in one of the photos, there is a t-bar permanently affixed to the slide room, which keeps the slide room on a straight track. The TSB pertained to any missing seals around the slide out, which my rig does not have any missing seals. Also note, my slide already has the roller plates already affixed to the slide room to protect the under side of the slide room floor from wear from the roller contact points. Hope this helps others.
