The mystery chimes

I've got something for you to solve for me before I take a shotgun to this thing. We've had this rig, 2016 31FK for 5 years. Went camping this past weekend and BACKED into our site. silence. We get home, back into our driveway and out of nowhere, this annoying LOUD chime kicks in for the entirety of our reverse into our 200 foot driveway. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHERE THE HELL THIS NOISE CAME FROM! It has never sounded before today. Someone has to know how to shut this off. Nothing on, no radio, no gps, no bluetooth hooked up when it happened. I just went out and recorded this video to see if it would still do it. Yep. both without engine on and with. What the holy hell?

I believe it is being caused by the Jensen 9000 radio that was installed in March. I couldn't even hear myself think while trying to navigate into our driveway yesterday.
Update: I went out to see if it still did it, and now when I use the fob to unlock the doors, while looking inside, the radio flicks on for a second, shows the backup camera view, goes off, and the darn chime starts. Now I don't even have to have it in reverse to hear it. Anyone got a clue?
I tried to upload a video, but couldn't.

I have a 2016 31FK and there's no chiming during reverse. A couple of ideas: it's not the leveling jacks beeping? They'll beep if they think you're moving with them down; but that'll be beeping in forward or reverse.

I don't have the Jensen 9000. I have the Jensen JRV215N. If the backup camera comes on when you're in reverse, then see if you can disable it. I can turn off all of the cameras on my JRV215N. Maybe the Jensen is the source?

chime like you left keys in the ignition when you open the door or one of those beeps when you put truck in reverse so the whole neighborhood is on alert?

"Low base 8s" Is a light, shotgun load used for small birds and game animals. Generally quail, dove rabbits etc. The term low base refers to the height of the brass base of the shell which equates to a lighter charge of power. 8s refers to the size of shot in the shell. High base is a more powerful load and generally used for 7 1/2 up to 00 buck shot.

BTW-low base 8s will destroy the dash. Maybe not the level of 00 buck, but still..

Well, I figured that if “ sewingcybermom “ decided that the shotgun was the tool of choice for the job and with the cost of ammunition these days ,low base 8’s would be the most cost effective way to complete the task. I sure hope someone has a better idea on how to fix this problem!!!

Can we cease the hijacking of this post with useless nonsense that has no relevance to the OP question?

OP- where does the chime sound emanate from? Is it heard through the stereo speakers? Inside vehicle under dash? A backup alarm from outside the vehicle?

My wife actually showed me the video of what the OP is talking about in a Jayco Facebook group. Let me describe the “chime” a little better.

It sounds like an audio file (more like a little song than a standard vehicle chime like if you left the key in the ignition).

We have the same coach and radio combo and I couldn’t find anything in the radio settings that would cause such a thing.

It’s a strange one for sure.

Anyway just wanted to try to add some more details since the OP couldn’t upload the video.

Sounds to me that he would like to know what the sound is, I have no idea
don't think he wants a comedy routine

Could this be a reverse warning chime? Most commercial trucks have them now. Even golf carts have them. I pulled the hot lead from the one in my golf cart.

As one other person asked, can you tell if the sound is coming from the radio, or from the camper body?

Is this Jensen 9000 in "demo mode"? Generally a setting/option.

Is it somehow connected via bluetooth to you phone and the chimes are from your phone?

Possibly your leveler module. The leveler will chime if it thinks all four levelers aren't fully retracted. My 2015 Greyhawk has a Big Foot leveler that has an indication labeled "All Up'. If this indication isn't lit, you've got at least one leveler that's not indicating that it's up. Each leveler has a switch on it with a rod that sticks down. If this rod isn't depressed enough and doesn't make the switch, you'll get this chime. I had one of mine fail to make the switch and had this exact problem. With the levelers fully retracted, go around to each leveler and slip something under the rod to get it to move up all the way. The chiming will stop (and the all up indication will light) if and when this is the problem.
