Time to plan our migration

We are heading to mesa at the end of October. Each year we take a different route to stop for various attractions. This year we are driving through Montana to see some waterfalls and then south through Utah. Plan to spend to in kanan and go jeeping in the south west corner of the state. We will do moab in spring. Any trails or attractions that are a must do or see in that area.. thanks in advance for your suggestions.
