Tips for selling?

For those who have sold their Class C's--what are your tips. We are trying to avoid consignment so we can get the most money since we just replaced many, many parts. But we have it on classifieds, craigslist, we used POP's (which does not seem to be any help), we have a sign on it at the storage facility.

Any tips that you can offer??

Thanks!

Refresh the Craigslist ad every 48 hours. We have never had to resort to them but RV Trader is a very popular site.

Set a reasonable price and don't expect to lead the top of the market because you recently upgraded parts. Class C white boxes are out there by the thousands and are more or less commodities. What is your motivation level to sell? Quicker sale, keep the price down below average for your unit/model year. Want top dollar be prepared to wait and likely drop the price going into the winter because you haven't seen much interest. Sorry but you are going to lose
significant value over what you paid even after only a year. Two or 3 years and the price is down even more regardless of condition. Unless a unit has been damaged the rest of them are in a fairly tight price range that varies somewhat by location.

Use rv trader. Have the unit spotless on the inside. Remove all the clutter. Set a fair price based on the age of the unit. At 7 years old you can assume the fair price is at least 35k below what you paid new, not MSRP. Everyone will look at rv trader for like units to see range of price. As a buyer I would only call, research the lowest priced units. Buying used you expect to spend $$ the first year fixing deficiencies. Everyone knows consignment lots charge 10% and just like selling a car buyers will want some of that. Good luck

Enjoy the journey

Like Trapperbob said, absolutely clean, and it should smell good.
Check in cabinets and storage for cleaning. Take away and store hoses, tools, chocks, extra bedding, clothes, just everything to make the place look bigger.

Nice bedding, pillows, maybe a table setting. Staged like a house.

No overwhelming scents, just like selling a house.

touch up any paint on hitches or frame you can reach or see, fresh oil change, clean engine bay, make the engine look nice.

You will get more for the effort then you would believe possible.
