To Winterize or Not To Winterize?

Have a camping trip scheduled for next week but tonite the temps will be around 29* . Debating if I should winterize for just the one nite or will it be ok till after my trip? Any tips out there?

1 night at 29 will not hurt anything. As long as your daytime temps are up over freezing, it will not be a problem. You need to worry when it drops in to the lower 20's and teens at night for days and doesn't recover above freezing.

thanks for the response....just wanted to avoid all the horror stories about bursting water lines!....just for the one day, and after my camping trip i'll winterize it. But still wanna use it during the winter!

We use ours all winter weather permitting. I did blow out the lines and put some antifreeze in the p traps the other day (we are going to be in the low teens tonight and tomorrow night). But after that, water is going back in and we are boondocking over the weekend.

If you are worried and you have access to power, put a small ceramic or similar heater on low inside the rig with the cabinet doors open where there are pipes. That should keep pretty much everything a bit above freezing. Actually, at the little below freezing, a couple of 100W incandescent lights would probably give off enough additional heat to provide some peace of mind.
