Tow Hitch Ball Height

I will need to get a hitch ball to hitch up a tow dolly rather quickly. The hitch company stated in a chat text with them.. "needs to have a hitch Hi 17 inches".
Note: the specs page for the dolly states 12"-16" Tongue Height.

I have a Greyhawk but it is stored away an not available for a quick check.
Does anyone know what hitch ball I might need? drop (how far), straight, rise (how high)?

Thanks for any insights!

FYI: the is the dolly: https://towsmarttrailers.com/collect...ding-tow-dolly

Not sure what your hitch height is, but you can buy hitches that have adjustability.

I ended up using a 5” drop. I have access to more than one size. I did one that put it at 16” but did not like how close the ramps where to the ground. My ramps are non removable. Different brands of dolly’s will need different heights. Hitch height on different motor homes will be different.

Thanks. What RV and dolly do you have?
So you have yours set at 11" or 12"?

2018 Greyhawk 31DS. In this picture ramps look closer to the ground due to unlevel ground.

Great. THANKS. That give me a good idea I'll need a drop.
Is that a Stehl or Master Tow? Kinda looks like one.
So, you had to drop to about 11 or 12 inches?

No purchase as yet. The one I was leaning towards, Tow Smart Trailer's Stow and Go... stated the above height requirements. I'm leaning a bit less towards it now as I believe, or i'm guessing, it is manufactured in China, hence the lower cost. But I do have a question out to Tow Smart Trailers about it. So I've switched my main lean towards a Demco Kar Kaddy X.

Hitch for ball will have a label what drop it is. Not familiar with all brands but ours has two additional chains bolted to frame of dolly that you hook to frame of car. I had to get the type clips pictured to put on my motorhome hitch because the safety chain hooks would not go through the slots on the hitch. Also connect my break away cable there.
