Towing a half ton Pickup

Does anyone pull a half ton pickup behind their class c? I have a 31GS Greyhawk on a ford chassis with a 450. Really do not want to invest another vehicle. I believe the weights say I can, I just have not seen anyone towing a full size pickup.

Thank you
Tobster

I've seen a couple Class C's towing a full size truck over here on the I-10.

The question would be going uphill. I pull a Chevy Equinox and there's a couple of hills that I've max'd out at 45 - 50 mph. I even have the 5 Starr mod.

Just saying....

We pull a Chevy Silverado Crewcab with a cap over 6.5 foot cargo bed, loaded with 1.5 scale steam engines behind a Seneca Super C. Works great! Hard to call it a pickup.

To me its a real comfortable box trailer, with a/c and a self sufficient engine, that has seating and steering capabilities. Its almost my basement and portable tool box.

Sold my 2009 in 2015 and picked this one up in March of 2018. It was very difficult to travel without it.

We tow a 5500LBS 20 ft race trailer.
with our 2016 Grayhawk. 31ds
Not sure what a chevy PU weighs.
Overall it is the best Class C we have owned for towing.
Braking will be the issue, the trailer brakes work pretty hard
down hill.
62mph seems to be about right with the trailer behind.
Getting 8.7 MPG.

Do you use a weight distribution hitch with that trailer?

I tow a Ford F-150 and don’t even know if it’s back there.

Thank You

truck weighs a little over 5200 lbs empty, I feel pretty comfortable that I should be able to tow it.

Thank You for your replies

In response to your question about W/D bars.
We us a W/D hitch with round bars rated at 800#lbs.
I did adjust the Helwig springs to level a bit also.

Thanks for that katiedog. My loaded car trailer is about the same weight. Been towing with diesel pickup but now will be setting up the Redhawk for the task. I have a Reese trunion bar setup left over from when we used to tow a travel trailer. Thanks again.
