Towing a Jeep wrangler behind Greyhawk 31DS

We want to start towing our 05 Wrangler, just curious what all we will need to make this happen safely. Tow bar, brake buddy, light kit ect...
By the way, jeep has 3.9 cummins and 5 sp tranny.

Put transfer case in neutral, trans in high gear. Unlock steering wheel. Some states now require brake system. No worse than pulling fishing boat though. I never used brake system.
And tell me about the diesel!,

Looks like an aftermarket conversion. I've been toying with the idea of buying a project jeep and always thought I would just drop a GM 350 in there, but this has me thinking!! That would be pretty bad a$$ to have the little Cummins turbo diesel in there!

I was thinking of it to tow behind a Class C I'd like to buy some day.

I did some research. About $20K for a shop to do so I'm thinking I could do for around 10K. Great MPG.

Our setup is the 31DS & 2002 Jeep Wrangler automatic transmission so our process to setup for towing would slightly vary from yours. We purchased the Blue OX Towbar and had the Invisibrake sysytem installed. Our Jeep weighs approx 3600 lbs fueled. You probably would be able to tow without a braking system and not experience much wear and tear on your coach, but we like the peace of mind. I'm not sure what the individual state requirements are but when we're traveling we don't want to have to worry about that. We have had our highway patrol to inquire as to whether we had a brake system installed.

You will enjoy towing and having the jeep on trips. BTW that 3.9 cummins diesel in a jeep sounds pretty B*D *SS!!

I did my conversion my self and cost me around 3500. It was surprisingly easier than you think. Thanks for the tow advise I'll be getting ready to hook it up.

That's good to hear, that money is much easier.

Post some pics of your setup if you don't mind. It may be a while before I get there, but I'm still interested because something very similar to your setup is what I would be looking for.

I'll get to it in a few days when it warms up a bit. Right now the jeep is tucked away in the corner of our tool shed.

I wasn't sure if you knew, I meant the entire setup. The MH, the Jeep and the towing tackle. We've been talking about getting a Class C for our next rig, and I've always dreamed of towing a Jeep behind it.

BTW, I can tell you all about the small block conversion in a Jeep... been there done that! I do actually love mine, but would loved to have done the turbo-diesel conversion!

There is a guy in our Jeep club that put a turbo-diesel into a Willys... talk about cool!
