Towing with Melbourne 24K

I bought my first RV, a Melbourne 24k last spring. After putting 18,000 miles on it since then, I have been thinking we need a dinghy. This has the Mercedes diesel engine and I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on towing with the Mercedes engine/chassis, type of dinghy would be best, (we haven't purchased a car yet) best tow bars, etc. Welcome any input before we make this next step.

Thanks,
Jim

Anything with a curb weight under 5000 pounds. We use a Demco bar and plate along with a Brake Buddy portable.

We have a 2016 Melbourne 24K. Bought and outfitted a 2013 Kia Soul. We've towed from Pittsburgh to Acadia Maine with no problems. Can't hardly tell the car is back there except for the longest, steepest hills. Also have towed a 12' enclosed trailer with a Goldwing motorcycle, no issues.

My toad doesn't weigh 2000lbs soaking wet and no issues with a blue ox tow bar. With or without the toad downshifting is needed at times.

We have a Falcon tow bar and a Brake Buddy Stealth. The Falcon came already equipped on our Jeep, which we purchased used. It works well. The brake system the Jeep had was pathetic, thus the purchase of the Stealth. We tow with no problems. Yes, downshifting is sometimes required on steep hills.

We tow a 2015 two-door Jeep Wrangler behind our 2017 Melbourne 24M.
Opted for:
--Blue Ox bar on the front of the Jeep.
--Ready Brute hitch apparatus to connect the Jeep to the RV. Chose it cuz it operates mechanically, not electrically.
Hookup time is about 10 minutes. About the same to disconnect.
Towing the Jeep robs maybe 2 mpg.
As for effort from the little diesel engine to tow, it seems almost effortless....
