Trailer Brake Contoller

Greetings all, I've read alot of threads on locating the factory installed 7 way trailer plug. I have a new 2017 26Y Greyhawk on a E450 chassis and will tow a car trailer with electric brakes.

I found the plug shown below, that i think is for plugging in a brake controller. When i orederd the controller the plug adapter that came with (for my selected year) is incorrect. After looking on the Tekonsha website they dont have a plug end for the 2017 E450.

Can anyone confirm that this is where I would plug in a brake controller before i splice the Tekonsha wiring into it? Also, that if so, the smaller gauge wires, white with colered stripes really do anything, assuming they are for running, stop, and blinker. I know those are already tied in to the trailer plug.

Thanks.

That looks like the brake controller plug. If they don't make a plug and play harness don't cut the wires. Look in your glovebox there should be a Ford supplied plug with loose wire ends that can splice into the brake controller supplied plug.

Nothing on the g box, but in the manuals bag there was a plug and wire only that is the same (male end) as what is under the dash.

The link in the last reply has the part number and what appears to be the right one to connect to the prodigy I bought.

Thanks

Can you tell me where to find the trailer brake harness on a 2017 greyhawk? It is not behind the coin holder. I looked there.
Thank you for any help you can provide!!

On our redhawk i found it behind lower dash panel under steering column, was easy to find and installed tekonsha p3 brake controller (90195) and plug and play wire harness (3034-p) from etrailer.com and away we go! Took all of about 15 minutes.

X3. I purchased the 3034-P on amazon after reading reviews/questions that confirmed it worked with the E450.

I found the brake controller connector in my 2019 Jayco Greyhawk 29MV (on a 2019 Ford E450 chassis) is behind the coin pocket in the top middle section of the dash (just above the stereo). Note: Some 2019 Greyhawks are on 2018 chassis so I'm not sure this applies to ALL 2019 Greyhawks (or Redhawks for that matter). If the 10th digit in the Ford VIN is "K" it's a 2019 chassis. If "J" it's a 2018 chassis. See pictures for clarification of the location and connector. The 1st picture shows the coin pocket in the front of the dash just above the stereo head unit. The 2nd picture is the back of the coin pocket with the Ford side of the brake controller connector. The 3rd & 4th pictures are the front & back of the Ford side connector. The 5th picture is one end of the Tekonsha 3034-P OEM adapter. I just ordered the Tekonsha OEM adaptor and will be using a Tekonsha P3 controller I already have.
