Trailer Hitch height on 2006 Escapade?

Hi Folks

New to RVs, picking up my 2006 Jayco Escapade CSLP on Friday. I recall the trailer hitch on it being pretty high off the ground, wondering if any other Escapade owners could measure how high off the ground their own trailer hitch is?

Reason I ask, my current motorcycle trailer connects to a trailer hitch (two inch) on the tow vehicle and the hitch on the tow vehicle, the lower edge of it, is 17" off the ground. I need to know which adapter to buy to lower the RV's tow hitch to same level.

Hi and Welcome to JOF!

If both trailers use the same ball size, then drag the new trailer home, find a level spot, disconnect and have at it with a tape measure. 5 minutes in your driveway and you'll have your numbers.

Remember to measure the height of the receiver BEFORE you uncouple.

20" from lower edge of hitch to the ground.
