travel info to New England

We are currently headed to Mass we are on I-70 east and would like to go North up towards Buffalo NY then over 90 to Mass any suggestions on route choices

(We run I90/I87 3-4 times a year)


I90 in NY is part of the NYS Thruway and charges a toll for its use.


I90 does a 20 mile dog-leg through Albany. Watch the signage and the right lane does some funny stuff 10-15 minutes before the city.




The best cue is that I90 becomes the Mass Pike (Massachusetts Turnpike) at the state line and uses a Pilgrim hat as the logo. I think it is also a toll road.
