TST 507 sensor

I have a 2017 Jayco Greyhawk 29ME. I installed the TST 507 and all went well except. The rear inner wheels have flexible stainless steel extenders. Problem is the sensor for the inner wheel rubs on the hubcap.
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and how you fixed it.
Two ways I was thinking is:
Grind the opening wider for those sensors.
Safety wire it to the hubcap pulling it down to prevent the rubbing.
Thanks!
