TV Cable Input Jack on '18 29MV

Hi all,

So we're on the road and for the first time have a campsite with cable TV. Since the forecast was calling for rain, I decided to connect the cable in case we had some down time. So I hooked to the pedestal, switched the button on the antenna amplifier to OFF, then hooked the other end of the cable to the unmarked jack that is in the compartment with the shore power cable. It didn't work well, so I changed the location to the jack on the passenger side, middle compartment, where I believe the outside TV would go. There was a marked improvement in the signal, but I just don't believe this is the correct location for the TV input (since I have to keep that compartment door open for the cable). On our former travel trailer, the cable input jack was well marked. Am I missing something?

Ed, I can’t answer your question because we are having this same issue with a 16 Greyhawk 29MV that we just purchased. We are on a shakedown run this weekend at a local park to try things out. The park claims that they have the second generation of digital cable feed and our TVs are first generation? Scratching my head on this one and will be watching your thread for some info. Jimmyd

Ed, the first way you connected it is the correct one...inside the compartment with the shore power cable. Mine works flawless...be sure you turned off the antenna booster. It's hard to tell which way is off or on inside that small compartment above the entrance door. That is the only thing that would cause this other than a bad connection somewhere.

Have you tried it on antenna with the booster on? Have you checked all the connections behind the tv?

You may want to double check the coax cable connector on the backside of where the cable connection is. We found ours pulled loose when we first needed to use it.

Did you go to menu on tv and change air to caple.
