Exactly. It cuts "all" power to that outlet as soon as ignition is turned on no matter what the source.

it works

I did this to my 2015 Jayco Greyhawk a couple days ago. I clipped the red wire coming from the relay device on the back of the outlet. My kids can now watch the TV while the key is in the ignition. I would not dream of trying to watch tv while driving, but I think the point is moot, since it is impossible to see the TV from the drivers seat in a my RV.

So I just tried this in my 31fs and it only half worked. I disconnected the red wire which was connected to a purple wire, capped and taped both. I have power to the tv with the truck running ONLY with generator on. When I shut off the generator and turn the inverter on, no power to tv. If I shut the truck off, inverter on, tv works.

Any thoughts?

Adding to my previous post, I was able to get the tv to come on. The problem now is when I plug in any audio/video or cable, the tv shuts off.

They had rca cables connected to the component video inputs. I wonder if this tv is doa. Although it was working with shore or genny power with the wrong wiring. What am I doing wrong?

Doesn't change anything. The relay is in the outlet and disconnects power whether on geny, inverter or shore power.

I just replaced the plug with a new one and taped up the wires that went to the relay,. All is great......

Very easy to do

It did work for me. The problem I'm having is the factory installed audio/video/cable shuts off the tv when I plug them in. But only with the inverter on. I give up trying to figure that one out. I'll be using a Blu-ray or xbox which will connect with hdmi, bypassing the factory stuff. I'll just have to unplug the factory cables while doing so.

I am curious how they disable the tv with the rca's and cable coax.

Guys,

Just purchased a 2015 Seneca RB. Does anyone know what color the wire is in this model that I can cut to have the front TV working while going down the road?

Well, folks... If I'm understanding all of this correctly, the easiest solution seems to be to just replace the outlet with a standard 120 volt household outlet.

Is that correct? If so, I'm off to Lowe's to take care of this once and for all! I want to be able to sit the crockpot in the sink and plug it into that outlet so it can run off of the inverter while we're traveling.

Thanks all... And Grumpy, you're a fountain of knowledge! Thanks so much for all of your help and advice!!!
