unladen weight?

I am doing the South Dakota 'stay one night' residency thing. Registering our 2014 Seneca 37FS, I supplied the yellow declaration on the door listing weight with fuel and propane. The registration agent wants the EMPTY weight without anything but oil. Geez. Where would one ever find the proof of this? She volunteered that I could go to a scale, but that weight includes fuel, clothes, and crap. Registration is based on weight. Anybody?

Not sure but would it be the 22,115 weight with fuel and propane listed on the yellow tag. Then calculate gallons of fuel times weight per gallon and the propane pounds and subtract them to get the net.

Or you could scale it and weight everything that is in it and list them out for the registrar. Yikes, hours!

Unladen weight usually means an empty vehicle with ~5 gallons of fuel, but may vary from state to state. You should be able to take that ticket with the weight with fuel and use that.

It will be much closer(lower in weight) than going to a scale and taking all of your stuff out.

weight

I suggested that to the agent assisting the title transfer from California to South Dakota. 74 gallons at 7.1# per gallon=525.4#. Minus 56# of propane. "Ohhh, nooo. They don't do math at the county," she said.
I put in a plea to Jayco. Maybe send a scribble on a letterhead if I've been good.

Gotta' love it! Jayco sent a letter on letterhead with appropriate deductions for fuel and propane and it put into the next lower registration costcatagory by weight. Win-win.
