The dash is easy to remove.
Start at the right side and using a trim removal tool (
https://amzn.to/3hTmTTX) pry at the snap-in fasteners.
You can also just yank on the dash panel but risk breaking the clips. I have used both methods but feel safer with the tool.
You can get to the USB plugs without totally removing the dash.
I added a dual voltmeter (measures house and chassis battery) as well as a USB port to the upper panel.
The entire assembly is switched so I can run it with the ignition off. Yes, I do have to remember to turn it off!
