want constant 12v power to 7 pin trailer connector

2016 Jayco 31FS

The 12v power source to the 7 pin trailer plug connector is only on when the ignition is on. Every other rig I've ever had the 12v source was live even without the ignition on.

I tow an enclosed trailer and am frequently in and out of it, working in it, kids sleep in it, etc. Having 12v lighting at my finger tips is essential.

I'd rather not have to run a separate 12v line to the trailer. I know I could install a 12 volt battery in the trail but I'm looking for an easy fix. Setting change or something???

I found the relay, removed it and made a jumper wire to replace it.

On many tv's you need to add a relay or in my case I on my TV I had to move the fuse over one spot.

Check your tv owners manual. If it's a ford chassis, I suspect you need to add, or move the relay.

A little more info would be much appreciated. What relay? Where is it located?

Mine was actually in a f150. It is located in the fuse panel. I think the owners manual fuse diagram identified it.

It is a small square relay, 1 inch square. I used a short piece of wire with a male spade terminal on each end.

F44 in battery junction box? Google search for 2013 f450 fuse diagram. If this isn't correct search for correct chassis.

On my 2010 F150 info it is labeled TRAILER TOW... It was a RELAY and a FUSE in an unmarked envelop in the truck glove box with no instructions when I purchased the truck....

OK twas getting late when I posted last night. I see you have 2016 E450? Here is what I found today. Also pictures of my 2013 f150. Relay is rectangular not square. I also pulled ignition power from this location. Looks like relay 4 located in engine compartment. Remember you will be able to run your battery down from trailer.
