Warranty repairs

I recently purchased a 2020 Greyhawk. On our third outing, we had a water leak from the water heater and severely damaged the cabinets around the refrigerator and in the kitchen. Took the unit back to the dealer in July and I was informed that Jayco would have to approve the repair. The dealer also stated that it would take 6-8 weeks for authorization and receipt of replacement cabinets. It has now been three months. Has anyone else had this experience with Jayco being slow to respond or is it the dealer?

Probably both. JAYCO doesn't stock cabinets etc those will have to be ordered specifically for your rig and they will not pull them off of the production line. The demand in sales due to COVID has really messed things up.

I would however double check with JAYCO to be sure the warranty request has been submitted. Dealers have been known to drop the ball too, or not follow-up on submitted requests.

Here’s a time frame for you. I had a window recall in May...my new window got sent from Jayco to the dealer in August. Good thing Jayco has a 2 year warranty cause it will take almost all of that to get your parts in 😂 The only reason I got my window as “quick” as I did is because I bombarded Jayco with phone calls and emails.

I think you are lucky that they are covering the "consequential damage". Most will only cover the warranteed part that failed and it is up to insurance to cover the rest.

I agree with the above, these aren't cars, you could wait forever for those parts. If it had been insurance you probably could have had a local cabinet maker turn them out and install them better than original.

Good luck!

Have you contacted Jayco to see if they authorized the warranty repair?

Thanks to allIt’s of little comfort to know that many of my a fellow RVers have similar experiences with Jayco. I have contacted Jayco without satisfaction. In owning RVs previously, I have not had problems with warranty work so just wondering if this was unique to Jayco or if I should lay it at the doorstep of the dealership.
Again, thanks everyone.
